Anonymous Crime Stoppers are credited with providing information that resulted in several solved Peninsula crimes, according to the Central Peninsula Crime Stoppers unit.
An anonymous tip provided information that cleared a series of theft and burglary cases on the Kenai Peninsula. Arrests have been made, felony charges filed and approximately $100,000 worth of property has been recovered.
In separate local cases, Crime Stoppers tipsters provided information that led to an armed robbery arrest, and a perpetrator was charged in a cold case involving residential dwelling damage.
The Central Peninsula Crime Stoppers has paid out more than $18,000 in rewards since its inception 25 years ago. It presently serves Seward, Moose Pass, Kenai, Nikiski, Soldotna, Sterling, Clam Gulch, Ninilchik, Anchor Point, Homer and Coopers Landing.
Anyone with information about an unsolved crime is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 478-HALT or www.crimestoppersonline.com. Names are not required, individuals are not expected to appear in court and useful information might result in a $1,000 reward.
